1 Look at the article. Does it come from a website or a magazine?
2 8.13 Listen and read. What are some of the things the young inventors made?

                                Inventors

Not all inventors are grown-ups. Here are some inventions from kids!
In 1905 in the United States, an 11-year-old named Frank Epperson lived
in a very cold place. One day, he mixed some candy powder with water
and left it outside. When he checked in the morning, his drink was frozen!
The wooden mixing stick he used was also frozen. Holding the stick, Frank
             tried his sweet treat.
Today, we call Frank’s drink on a stick an ice pop. Some inventions just taste good!

                                                 In 1922 in Canada, 15-year-old Joseph-Armand
Bombadier invented a new way to move in the snow.
He took parts of an old car with a propeller and
put them on a sled. When he pushed the sled in the
snow, he saw his idea worked! His dad was worried
and made him stop, but he didn’t give up. Many
years later he invented the snowmobile.

In France, Louis Braille was blind. He wanted to help find a
better way to read. It was very hard for blind people to find
ways to read. Another inventor showed Louis an idea of
using bumps on paper to make letters. He worked hard on
his invention for three years. Then, finally, Louis created an
              alphabet for the blind.
Today, there are many different Braille alphabets around the
world. And how old was Louis when he invented it? Just 15!

116 I can read a website about young inventors.
