1 5.17 Listen and read. How does the story make you feel?
Narrator: Katy and Karl were in the forest. It
was very hot.
(Katy and Karl walk.)
Katy: I’m thirsty.
Karl: So am I. Let’s stop and have a drink.
(Katy and Karl sit down and drink.)
Narrator: Katy and Karl were tired.
Karl: I’m sleepy.
Katy: So am I. Let’s sleep under that tree.
(Katy and Karl sleep.)
Narrator: But it wasn’t quiet
in the forest.
(Karl wakes up.)
Karl: Listen! What was that? Wake up,
Katy! I’m scared.
